A Typical Top Opening Fridge
A fridge is normally designed to run at +4ºC, typically with a range from +2ºC to +10ºC
Frigoboat recommend that a fridge is insulated with 75mm of closed cell polyurethane foam. In some circumstances this is not possible but we strongly suggest that you do not reduce the insulation to less than 50mm as this will start to effect the performance of your fridge and could lead to issues with condensation when operating in high ambient conditions.
A Typical Top Opening Freezer
A Freezer is designed to operate between -12ºC to -18ºC. Freezers should ideally always run at -18°C so our system builder is set up to specify equipment to maintain -18ºC which equates to a **** freezer – see below:
- 1-star ice box – operates at a minimum temperature of -6 degrees Celsius
- 2-star ice box – operates at a minimum temperature of -12 degrees Celsius
- 3-star ice box – operates at a minimum temperature of -18 degrees Celsius
- 4-star freezer – operates at a minimum temperature of -18 degrees Celsius
Frigoboat recommend that a freezer is insulated with 100mm of closed cell polyurethane foam. In some circumstances this is not possible but we strongly suggest that you do not reduce the insulation to less than 75mm as this will start to effect the performance of your fridge and could lead to issues with condensation when operating in high ambient conditions.
