FAQ’s for Climma Compact independent marine air conditioning units
Q Is digital display on?
If there is no power to the digital display check the breaker to the AC unit and that there is power to the AC main electrical box. Also check that the Vega panel is properly plugged in to the electrical box
Q The unit has power, the digital display is on but it will not run?
Confirm that the temperature is set correctly to cool or heat as required.
If the Vega panel is showing a fault code refer to the codes below. If the Vega display is not showing a fault code and the LED light is on to confirm it is cool mode or heat mode then check the voltage value between “L” and “N” of the “MAIN POWER” terminals on electrical board is correct.
Q Have you selected the correct operational mode?
Make sure you have selected the correct operational mode on the panel – cool, heat or auto
Q Is the fan speed too low?
Increase the fan speed or select the AUTO mode for the digital version.
Q Is the air circulation insufficient?
Check that there are no obstructions to the duct or to the outlet or inlet grills and that the air filter is clean. The ducting must not be crushed or have significant bends or kinks in it. If necessary re-run the duct to reduce the number of bends where possible and the length of the duct to the straightest and most direct run possible.
If the air filter is dirty replace it and hoover out the aluminium fins of the evaporator to improve the air flow.
Q Does the compressor run for only a short period?
It is most likely that the high pressure switch has activated. In cool mode this will be due to poor sea water circulation. Check the sea water filter and the sea water pump.
If the pump is feeding more than one AC unit and only one is not working correctly you may need to adjust the flow through the manifold to improve the flow to the problem unit. If the problem unit is a deck above the other units it is likely that the sea water is not reaching this deck. To overcome this you may need to move re-route the sea water circuit so the manifold is at the same height as the highest unit to ensure the water is distributed correctly to all AC units.
Note: AC pumps are not self priming so it is very important that the sea water pump and all pipe work between the sea water inlet and the pump is below the water line.
Q The compressor does not run?
If the high pressure switch trips more that than three times the AC compressor unit will not start. Check the sea water circuit, switch the AC unit off and on again at the main breaker/switch panel. If this happens again and you have good sea water flow, contact our service team.
Q Have you selected the correct operational mode?
Select on the panel the heating mode (HEAT) or AUTO
Q Have you correctly regulated the thermostat?
Regulate the temperature on higher values.
Q Is the fan speed too high?
Decrease the fan speed or select the AUTO mode for the digital version.

Q Is the air filter dirty?
Clean or replace it.
Q Has the heating been working only for few minutes?
The resistance protection has tripped. Check the air circulation, the fan speed and the air filter. If this happens again, contact our service team

Q Confirm the fuse has not blown?
After the necessary checks, replace the F1 fuse with another one with the same dimensions and charge.
Q Has the high pressure switch tripped?
Check the cooling circuit, clean the sea water filter and check that all seacocks are open and the pipes are clean and free of growth so you have unrestricted sea water flow through the system.
Q Sea water pump is faulty?
If there is definitely power to the pump (check you have the correct voltage – if any doubt about the dock power run the AC unit on your genset) and the sea water circuit is clean then the pump may have seized or failed – see specific pump for detail on seal kits or options to service and repair.
