The design and build process for custom refrigeration and cold rooms

Penguin Refrigeration, in partnership with Italian refrigeration manufacturer Veco, is highly experienced in offering custom refrigeration solutions for yachts, super yachts, high-end residential and office applications as well as specialist and luxury vehicles.

From walk-in cold stores and freezer rooms to galley fridges and freezers, bespoke wet bar fridges, wine cellars and ice makers to silent stateroom minibars and drinks fridges, our custom refrigeration solution will fit seamlessly into your unique interior whether classic or ultra-modern.

Concept to design and manufacture

Using Penguin’s design platform, we take your dimensions to produce an initial solution to optimise the space and deliver the best options for your design requirement.  By bringing in Penguin at the early stages of the process, we can advise on your initial concepts ensuring the space dedicated to refrigeration is fully utilised and provides sufficient fridge, freezer or cold room capacity, fully costed for you to ensure everything is budgeted and there are no surprises later in the project.

Precision manufacture

Once concept designs and costs are approved, Penguin will detail up the project design creating pre-production drawings and technical schematics to give you full specifications for sign off before production begins.  Our manufacturers, Veco, begin production in Italy using the latest CAD CAM technology, ensuring the design is interpreted and produced precisely to the highest standards in both build quality and aesthetics.

Project management and production engineering

Penguin provide complete engineering support throughout the build, updating schematics and producing installation guides and manuals, confirming specification requirements such as power supply, air flow, water cooling and levels of redundancy where required.

Installation and commissioning

Penguin will manage the installation on-site to the level required by the shipyard or build team – we can run the complete installation for larger projects or just provide the product for self-installation with engineering support and expertise as needed.

Global warranty and after sales support

Following handover and Penguin commissioning and approval, the refrigeration is covered by a minimum one-year global warranty managed through our technical support desk.  This is backed up by the extensive Veco Global Service Network.  Further levels of Global Service Support agreements are available to ensure your refrigeration has the highest level of product support possible throughout its life.
